Cold-drawn steel round bars - description
Cold-drawn round bars are made by coil to bar or bar to bar drawing technology. Oxidized surface scales are removed by grit-blasting or pickling. The bars are then drawn, cut, straightened, polished, non-destructive tested and bunched for shipping. The quality parameters are manufactured to meet CSN, DIN, EN and GOST standards (see tables).

Surface finish:
Drawn round steel bars are delivered in smooth, bright or matt surface finish. The surface defects meet the tolerance limits specified in CSN 42 0134 standards.
Heat treatment:
Round bars are delivered either in as-drawn or in an annealed condition.
Pointing:
Bars up to diameter 10,00 mm may be chamfered one side or both sides.
Tolerances dimensions:
Round bars are delivered in minus range of tolerance limits. Their sizes are specified in ppropriate dimension standards and correspond to the tolerance limits h9, h11 and h12. Up to the diameter of 4,50 mm, produced according to CSN 42 6511 standard are supplied in tolerance limit h11 and h10.

Drawn round steel bars are delivered in usual standard, approximate or precise stock lengths.

Packing and designation:
Bars are delivered in bundles which weigh from 1000 to 2500 kg. Upon request the bundles can be wrapped in paper or jute or they can be delivered in cases. Each bundle is fitted with the producer's label containing the data as follows:
- size
- steel grade
- lengths
- heat number
- weight in kg, by agreement length in m and number of pieces
- customer
The surface of the bars is protected against atmospheric corrosion with a preserving agent.
