Cold-drawn steel square, flat, hexagonal bars - description

Cold-drawn steel square, flat and hexagonal bars are made by coil to bar or bar to bar drawing technology. Oxidized surface scales are removed by grit-blasting or pickling. The bars are then drawn, cut, straightened, polished, non-destructive tested and bunched for shipping. The quality parameters are manufactured to meet CSN, DIN, EN and GOST standards. The CSN standards proper are listed in the size tables.

Surface finish:

Cold-drawn steel square, flat and hexagonal bars are supplied in smooth, bright or matt surface finish. The surface defects meet the tolerance limits specified in CSN 42 0134 standard.



Heat treatment:

Cold-drawn steel bars are supplied either in as-drawn or annealed condition. Annealing is maked by shape:

  • square - size 10,00 - 25,00 mm
  • rectangular - size 18,00x10 - 40,00x12,00 mm
  • hexagonal - size 13,00 - 46,00 mm

 



Tolerances dimensions

Cold-drawn steel square, flat and hexagonal bars are supplied in minus range of tolerance limits and their magnitudes are specified i appropriate dimensions standards and satisfy the tolerance limit by ISO h11 a h12.

Packing and designation:

Bars are delivered in bundles which weigh from 1000 to 2500 kg. Upon request the bundles can be wrapped in paper or jute or they can be delivered in cases. Each bundle is fitted with the producer's label containing the data as follows:

  • size
  • steel grade
  • lengths
  • heat number
  • weight in kg, by agreement length in m and number of pieces
  • customer
The surface of the bars is protected against atmospheric corrosion with a preserving agent.
